Nahche Foundation

Soul. Animals. Commandment. Life (Non-profit organization number - 580779213 )

Nahche Foundation has been working since the events of Black Saturday in October 7th 2023, to support and rehabilitate veterans of elite combat units as well as dogs from the south and north of Israel. The members operate in a safe and protected rehabilitative environment for both humans and four-legged friends, emphasizing values of giving, social involvement, and mutual care.

The Foundation was established in memory of YAMAM fighter Chief Warrant Officer Chen “Nahche” Nehemias by his teammates from IDF unit Duvdevan.

Goals of the Nahche Foundation:

Commemoration

The foundation will operate to honor YAMAM fighter Chief Warrant Officer Chen Nehemias, who fought bravely on October 7th, 2023, and was killed in action near Sderot. The foundation will promote the legacy of love for animals and for people that he left behind.

Rehabilitation of post-traumatic veterans

The Nahche Foundation will assist in the care and rehabilitation of individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress as a result of their military service. The Foundation will provide a therapeutic space for combat teams to process their experiences and participate in workshops, in collaboration with professional specialists.

Animal protection

The Nahche Foundation will promote the protection of animals and assist in their rescue and care, with a focus on dogs from conflict areas and dogs belonging to security forces and displaced families. The Foundation will also advance knowledge and public discussion in Israel regarding animal rights and animal welfare laws, while promoting legislation and raising awareness on these issues.

Establishment of ‘Nekudat-Chen’ Dog Boarding Facility- a nurturing home for dogs in memory of Chief Warrant Officer Chen Nehemias, of blessed memory.

These days, many volunteers and youth are working day and night to establish a dog boarding facility whose mission is to rescue dogs affected by the October 7th events. The facility will serve as a warm home for these dogs, as well as for dogs of displaced families and dogs of security forces while they carry out their sacred duties and protect us all.

The establishment and operation of the facility are entrusted to post traumatic veterans of elite combat units. This dog boarding facility also serves as a rehabilitative space for them.

The dog boarding facility, “Nekudat-Chen,” is being built in Ein Gedi in commemoration and honor of Chief Warrant Officer Chen “Nahche” Nehemias, a YAMAM sniper who was deployed to Sderot on October 7th after an alert of a suspected terrorist infiltration. Chen fought bravely until his last bullet against Hamas attackers attempting to reach the city’s residents. In his death, he saved many civilians.

Chen loved and cared for animals throughout his life. His teammates from Duvdevan military unit are establishing the dog boarding facility in his memory, to honor and preserve the legacy of love for both animals and people that he left behind.

We invite you to take part in this project: to donate, support, help, and assist in creating this memorial initiative for someone who sacrificed his life for the country, and together with us, establish a nurturing home for dogs.

In this way, we will save many lives- both human and our four-legged friends.
